About the Program
How Does CLP Work?
The Charter Oak Leadership Program consists of nine full-day sessions, the third Friday of each month: September through May. Classes are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by an optional happy hour.
Many of the most recognized and respected experts in the country – including authorities on current events, leadership and the political process – lead each session. CLP students are of extremely high caliber and each year’s class is limited to 45 students to foster collaborative, participatory learning and to maximize interaction among students and presenters.
Who Can Apply to CLP?
Anyone may apply who is interested in making a difference in his or her community. CLP seeks motivated, capable men and women from diverse professional backgrounds and from all geographic areas of Connecticut. The criteria for selection into the program is an applicant’s real world and professional background, a review of their education, as well as involvement in community service activities.
Cost of CLP
Regular tuition for the 2022 – 2023 class is $2,495. The actual cost per class member is $6,500. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, we are fortunate to have a Board of Directors and other donors who make large financial contributions in order to substantially subsidize the cost of the program for our members.
