About the Program
The Charter Oak Leadership Program (CLP) is geared to be Connecticut’s premier institute to develop, strengthen, train and equip emerging leaders to reach new heights in public policy and the political process.
CLP identifies and brings together emerging leaders from the legal, economic, business, political, nonprofit and civic professions to learn how visionary, principle-centered leadership can positively impact their community.
The Leadership Program of the Rockies (LPR) is the parent organization of the Charter Oak Leadership Program. Founded by Shari Williams in the early 2000’s, LPR has over 1800 alumni and has made a significant impact to the culture in Colorado. In 2019, LPR made a bold choice to move outside the boundaries of Colorado to help advance freedom in Connecticut and beyond.
Cost of CLP
Regular tuition for the 2022 – 2023 class is $2,495. The actual cost per class member is $6,500. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, we are fortunate to have a Board of Directors and other donors who make large financial contributions in order to substantially subsidize the cost of the program for our members.
Anyone may apply who is interested in making a difference in his or her community. CLP seeks motivated, capable men and women from diverse professional backgrounds and from all geographic areas of Connecticut. The criteria for selection into the program is an applicant’s real world and professional background, a review of their education, as well as involvement in community service activities.
Applications for the CLP Class of 2023 are now closed. Please check back next summer for more information.
